Are you buying or selling a home without an agent? Here’s four things to agree to with the other party before preparing any documents:

  1. Purchase Price- what amount will the home be sold for?
  2. Earnest Money- what amount will the buyer put “down” while they inspect the home?
  3. Due Diligence Period- how much time will the buyer have to inspect the home?
  4. Closing Date- when will the home transfer?
  5. Exclusions- will any fixtures in the home be excluded from the transfer? Will any personal property be included as part of the sale?

There are other considerations, but these five points should be answered before taking next steps.
